Wireless Automation,WISA Products

It is unbelievable how many manufacturing people from all over the world report about breakdowns because of broken cables and wires.

Based on experiences of ABB factories and German automotive suppliers, it can be said: "Wireless = Most Reliable". ABB uses Wireless (WISA) since 2003 in the Heidelberg plant.

Wireless networks in factory automation can work reliable and deterministically. Even more reliable than traditional fieldbusses using cables. Sliprings and contact blocks for data transmission are often outperformend by WISA from ABB in case of reliability. WISA stands for Wireless Interface for Sensors and Actuators.

See how some of ABB´s core businesses gain profit by using WISA. Download the high-definition videos, see ABB plants running WISA and listen to experts of automation.

"HVC" video presents also WISA-POWER, the optional battery-free, wireless power supply solution for sensors and limit switches. "Robotics" video shows a robot using tool changer and contact blocks, where contact block is for actuator power only.

If you want to see WISA in day-by-day manufacturing, feel free to apply for a factory tour in Heidelberg, Germany. Restrictions may apply.
