Maintenance and Field Services

Proactive field test and routine maintenance activities performed on site in accordance with manufacturers’ specification. We also offer customised maintenance agreements to help ensure optimum performance of instrumentation.

In cases where full certification is not needed or not possible, using specialist hardware/software packages, we can perform predictive diagnostic tests on specific instruments to verify performance and compare results against original manufactured specification.
The survey provides independent reassurance that the furnaces and ovens are working within specification and are fulfilling customers' quality assurance requirements. The survey also helps identify specific problems such as temperature gradients, oven failure etc.
Provision of independent on site calibration in accordance with agreed schedules to ensure specific industry regulatory standards are fully met. All equipment used is certified and fully traceable according to national accreditation standards in your country (e.g. National Institute of Standards and Technology in the US, UK Accreditation Service).
Centralised coordination of field based service specialists to provide prompt on site reactive test and repair of all ABB’s instrumentation products. We also provide service contracts available for customers requiring specific response times for crucial processes and plant.
Electromagnetic flowmeters use reliable and robust technology but, like any other instrument, it would be prudent to carry out periodic tests to ensure that the flowmeters performance has not deviated significantly from specified tolerances. ABB has developed a unique in-situ verification tool - CalMaster™ - to enable these tests to be carried out without having to remove the flowmeter from the process. The following service options are available:-

• Flowmeter Validation Service: In-situ flowmeter validation service using a CheckMaster validation unit as a means of independent in-situ checking of a MagMaster or AquaMaster flowmeter during installation/commissioning.
• Flowmeter Verification Service: In-situ flowmeter verification service using ABB’s unique CalMaster2 technology for verifying installed and operational flowmeters. Customised service programmes available enabling full verification of calibration of installed MagMaster and AquaMaster flowmeters offering a considerably lower cost option to full removal and wet calibration of flowmeter.
• Flowmeter Fingerprint Verification Service: A more advanced version of our verification service which enables in-situ fingerprint verification to +/- 1% using ABB’s unique CalMaster2 IRIS technology. This unique capability can only be provided by a small number of certified service specialists for MagMaster and AquaMaster flowmeters.
• AquaProbe Validation Service: ABB's AquaProbe is a point velocity electromagnetic flowmeter that is easy to install and use but care should be taken to ensure that the probe is installed and programmed correctly in accordance with the individual site configuration. This validation service has been developed to provide customers with reassurance that their AquaProbe has been installed correctly.

ABB provides a tiered range of contracted services specifically designed for large case analytical instruments such as Nitrate, Silica, Sodium, Iron, Aluminium & Manganese analysers etc. Service packages are available from the elementary field start-up right through to a fully inclusive total care package which includes labour and the supply and delivery of all consumables and reagents etc., offering you total peace of mind.
