System 800xA gathers information from multiple plant sources and transforms it into relevant information for a diverse set of users such as maintenance technicians, process engineers, production managers or plant operators. Contextual navigation presents the entire production facility in a single window for these users.
Any Operator Workplace can consist of up to four monitors or large screens built up with two up to four projectors. The Extended Operator Workplace is an example of how a modern operator console can be configured. Four up to six monitors in combination with a large screen of up to three meters in width, mounted on an ergonomically designed console, provides an outstanding working environment for the operator.
The enabling technology for this data access, storage, and management is ABB’s patented Aspect Object framework. Aspect Objects relate all plant data, the aspects, to specific plant assets, the objects. Aspects are informational items associated with objects, such as I/O definitions, engineering drawings, process graphics, etc. that are assigned to each object in the system.
