The AC 870P controller is a member of the System 800xA family. This compact and DIN rail mounted device offers latest control technology for wall-mounted or cabinet installation. Without requiring additional configuration, the AC 870P inherent redundancy design concepts for power supply, communication, and I/O provide the highest level of availability.
In addition to the redundant interface for connecting AC 870P local I/O, AC 870P provides two redundant PROFIBUS DP lines. The redundantly implemented PROFIBUS interfaces allow you to connect separate cables which lead to the field – for example, to System 800xA's remote I/O, which also provides redundant interface connections.The electronic equipment required for this is integrated into the controller. It automatically switches to the second connection if the first one is damaged.
