System 800xA is a distributed system. The availability of the system depends on the availability of the distributed function and the redundancy applied. Workstations are mainly used as operator interface but can also have server functionality in an 800xA system.
A workstation does not have the detailed management software, which is why the supervision is reduced to the availability of the system and to the software related functions such as CPU load, disk and memory utilization.
The supervision function for workstations is general and can be used by most suppliers’ workstations.
