Simplicity of Use
All operation and configuration of the SM series is performed via Windows style menus and dialogs that guide the user effortlessly through the functions that they require. A channel-by-channel approach to configuration ensures simple and fast set-up.

Thriving in Real Process Conditions
Uniquely for a product of this type the SM Series has a protection ratings of NEMA 4 & IP66 and fully sealed lockable media door. This enables they to be installed, without additional protection in to applications that require frequent hose-down.

Industrial Standard, Robust, Archive Storage
The SM series are available with a Compact Flash memory card. The solid-state nature of these devices ensures maximum reliability. Whilst their large storage capacity ensures minimum operator intervention to retrieve process data.

Guaranteed Data Security
All SM Series recorders feature as standard high specification security compliant with 21 CFR Part 11. Multiple users each with individual user name and password can be configured. A detailed audit log keeps a compressive history of the users actions plus many other critical events.

Advanced Communications
Ethernet communications provides excellent remote process monitoring. Every SM Series recorder features an internal web-server providing access to a series of detailed web pages that show extensive real time process information that can be viewed using any standard web browser. Via the use of a modem router a SM series recorder can be connected to a telephone line and remotely accessed from anywhere in the world. High-speed remote access to the data files logged by an SM Series recorder can also be made via Ethernet communications.

ABB’s DataManager software accompanies the SM Series Videographic recorders. DataManager provides database management and detailed analysis of data logged by an SM series recorder. DataManager also provides a security check of process data files ensuring their integrity.
