Two types of controllers are available: the new AC 700F controller and the AC 800F controller being well introduced since years and running in many applications.
A Freelance 800F system can consist of between one and several AC 800F field controllers and/or AC 700F controllers and can be extended with I/O units. You have the option of configuring your system either redundantly (CPU redundancy, fieldbus module redundancy) or without redundancy.
AC 800F opens up the flexibility of fieldbus technology and provides access to the fieldbus of your choice: FOUNDATION Fieldbus, PROFIBUS, or HART. You can connect fieldbus-compliant I/O components such as remote S800 or S900 I/O or field devices directly to the AC 800F via fieldbus modules. AC 700F can be equipped with local I/O modules.
The configuration for the entire project is done with one tool, Control Builder F. Within Control Builder F you work with both controller types in exactly the same manner.
