  • ANSI Current Transformers

    ANSI current transformers are available in voltage classes ranging from 0.6 kV to 69 kV and are offered in a variety of insulation materials including thermoplastic rubber, plastic case, polyurethane, and hydrophobic cycloaliphatic epoxy (HCEP).

  • ANSI Voltage Transformers

    ANSI voltage transformers are available in voltage classes ranging from 0.6 kV to 69 kV and are offered in a variety of insulation materials including thermoplastic rubber, polyurethane, and hydrophobic cycloaliphatic epoxy (HCEP).

  • GB Current Transformers

    GB current transformers are available for rated voltages 12 kV and 36 kV. The insulation material is epoxy resin, and these products are designed for various metering and protection applications.

  • IEC Voltage Transformers

    Insulation level from up to 40.5 kV. All these transformers can be installed in any position within a cubicle-type or cellular-type MV switchboard. Transformers can be equipped with fuse, introduced in the primary winding, or without fuse.

  • Sensors

    New solution for measuring currents and voltages needed for protection and monitoring in medium voltage power systems. ABB allows to improve the availibility, compactness, performance and safety of medium voltage switchgear.

  • ANSI Specialty Application Transformer Products

    Specialty combination CTs and PTs for metering and control power are available in voltage classes ranging from 0.6 kV to 34.5 kV. The transformers can be used in various metering packages for switchgear and utility applications.

  • Ferroresonance protection devices

    Preventive devices selectively active against the ferroresonant oscillations while being inactive against natural system asymmetry. 

  • IEC Current Transformers

    Insulation level up to 40.5 kV. The basic construction part of the transformer is the epoxi body, the primary winding, secondary winding and the magnetic circuit. The transformers may be installed in any position inside the switchboard.

  • Passive Voltage Indicators

    A busbar-mounted-type indicator of voltage presence for use in outdoor and indoor systems

High Voltage Instrument Transformers

Current Transformers

The primary winding in a current transformer is incorporated in the line and carries the current flowing in the network. The magnitude of the secondary current is dependent of the ratio of the transformer.

Voltage Transformers

ABB outdoor voltage transformers are single-phase design and intended for connection between phase and ground in networks with insulated or direct grounded neutral points.

Current/Voltage Transformers

Above a service voltage of 110 kV, instrument transformers are frequently manufactured as combined current and voltage transformers.

Coupling Capacitor

Coupling capacitors types CCA (standard capacitance) and CCB (extra high capacitance) are intended for power line carrier applications.
