ELASTIMOLD® SWITCHGEAR MOLDED VACCUM FAULT INTERRUPTERS
Provides compact, submersible overcurrent protection for medium-voltage distribution systems.
COMPACT, LIGHTWEIGHT AND SUBMERSIBLE PROTECTION
ABB's Elastimold molded vacuum fault interrupters provide automatic overcurrent protection through 25,000A symmetrical across 5kV to 38kV medium-voltage distribution systems without oil or SF6 gas. Available in single-phase and three-phase models with molded-in elbow connection interfaces and trip-free mechanisms, these compact, lightweight interrupters integrate into Elastimold switchgear systems – padmount, vault, subsurface and riser pole – to deliver reliable and virtually maintenance-free fault protection.
KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Assembled, tested and shipped from Hackettstown, New Jersey, USA, ABB's Elastimold molded vacuum fault interrupters deliver compact, submersible and virtually maintenance-free overcurrent protection that is field programmable with a wide range of time-current characteristic curves and self-powered electronic controls.

Complete solution

Vacuum interrupters with molded EPDM rubber insulation provide compact, lightweight and submersible overcurrent protection for utility medium-voltage electrical distribution systems.
Submersible

Sealed and fully submersible to 10 feet (3 meters).
Temperature-resistant

Operating temperature range from -40˚C to 65˚C.
Precise

Field programmable with a wide range of time-current characteristic (TCC) curves and trip settings.
Safe

TCC curves provide predictable tripping for ease of coordination with upstream or downstream protective devices
Indicator

Self-powered electronic control monitors the circuit condition. When the programmed parameters are exceeded, a signal is sent to the tripping mechanism.
Allow reconfigurations

Available motor operators and controls enable radial feeders or loops to be reconfigured, either manually or via SCADA.
Reliable

Made with a proprietary EPDM rubber formulation that has been tested and trusted in the field for over 50 years on a solid-dielectric platform. With a silicone diaphragm, it uses air as an insulating medium.
INDUSTRIES WE SUPPORT
