The Swiss Electrotechnical Association Electrosuisse is a testing centre for safety-related examinations with the accreditation to carry out examinations of all relevant EN and EC standards for low voltage-manufacture like components, appliances, installations for electro and communication economy and to prove the conformity of the products (accreditation number STS 001). As well as their own internal laboratory, the Electrosuisse is, as an internationally active company, an important partner for the PMA AG regarding products and material examinations.

The "Laboratoire National d'Essais" (LNE) is a testing centre with the accreditation to carry out tests and to prove the conformity of products according to many different standards and individual specifications. Lloyds Register (LR) is an independent classification and inspection authority for the shipping and machine construction industry. Type approval certificates regarding the LR requirements for the use in the shipbuilding and Off-Shore area are available for various products of the company PMA AG.

CSA (Canadian Standard Association) is editor of different product standards. CSA tests the characteristics of products and systems in order to guarantee that these comply with the requirements of the Canadian market. The PMA product portfolio comprises a large choice of conduits and connectors which are tested and surveyed by CSA.

UL (Underwriters Laboratories) is editor of different product standards. UL tests the characteristics of products and systems in order to guarantee that these comply with the requirements of the American market. The PMA product portfolio comprises a large choice of conduits and connectors which are tested and surveyed by UL. The symbol above indicates that products have been tested at UL according to the requirements of the Bi-National cable protection standard UL 1696 _CSA C22.2 No.227.3-05 and are approved for both USA and Canada.

Promoted by UNIFE and supported by operators, system integrators and equipment manufacturers, IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard) complements the internationally recognized ISO 9001 quality standard introducing rail specific requirements. IRIS is modelled on similar quality standards already in place in the aerospace, and automotive industries and it aims at the avoidance of multiple business management system auditing and therefore increased cost efficiency. Objectivity and transparency are guaranteed by only using approved and independent certification bodies, known and recognized in the industry.

The IRIS certificate will replace individual management system evaluations by at least the four founders of this initiative (Alstom Transport, AnsaldoBreda, Siemens Transportation Systems and Bombardier Transportation).

The French National Railway company S.N.C.F. is one of the leading authorities to develop and implement specification requirements for the European railway industry. PMA products have been approved by the French National Railway Company and is homologated for use on S.N.C.F train cars and Infrastructure.

The PMA product portfolio comprises listed conduits and connectors which are tested and surveyed by UL.
The symbol above indicates that products have been tested at UL according to the requirements of the Bi-National cable protection standard UL 1660 - C22.2 No. 227.2.1-04 and are approved for both USA and Canada. "UL-Listed Products" are tested to a higher degree of safety than “recognized” products and can be sold for installation by untrained personnel in installations accessible to untrained personnel. A UL “Recognized” product is usually sufficient if the product is being installed into a fully enclosed system by a trained engineer.

During the last years the EC has issued for important product groups totally 20 guidelines according to the ”New Approach” which must be moved into national right by the member states of the European Union. The EC refers in these guidelines to the establishing of the basic technical requirements concerning security and health protection. To put the general legal requests into actual form, the EC engages the European Standardization Institutes (CEN, CENELEC, ETSI) with the creation of European Standards (EN). With the publication in the EC official gazette, these attain the status of harmonized standards. With the CE designation as well as the conformity explanation, PMA certifies the accordance of the relevant products with the requirements of the low voltage guideline (73/23/EEC).

London Underground Limited (LUL) is a subsidiary of London Transport. LUL is editor of a variety of product standards and specifications. UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) marking is a conformity mark that indicates conformity with the applicable requirements for products sold within Great Britain.
The UKCA marking became part of UK law at the end of the Brexit transition period, on 31 December 2020, with the coming into force of The Product Safety and Metrology etc. (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019. It has been mandatory since then, although, until 31 December 2024 (an extended deadline, which was previously 1 January 2022 then 31 December 2022), the CE mark is accepted as a valid alternative. The scope and procedures of the UKCA scheme will initially follow those for CE marking, but after 31 December 2020 the two schemes may diverge.

ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) is an independent classification and inspection authority for the shipping industry. Type approval certificates regarding the ABS requirements for the use in the shipbuilding and Off-Shore area are available for various products from the company PMA AG.

Trenitalia is the operator of goods and passenger transport within Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), the Italian railway company. Based on various standards like fire protection standards Trenitalia specifies and qualifies suitable materials for rail vehicle engineering.

Gost in the Cyrillic language means standard. In 1989 the Russian authorities introduced for the first time regulations related to quality control for products manufactured and sold within the country. The regulations were first implemented in the early 1990ís providing the legal and technical foundation for the national certification system. From 1992 the directives were put into practice.

Products manufactured within or imported into the Russian federation should be certified. The Gost-R certificates can be compared to the European CE declaration of conformity system, with the difference that the CE system is based upon self certification. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to ensure that his product complies with all the relevant standards, whereas a Gost certificate may only be issued by a registered authority.
