EXCELLENCE THROUGH TESTING
Testing, research and development are at the core of PMA's high-performance cable protection solutions. Our dedicated test laboratories combine advanced equipment with engineering expertise to support product development, quality assurance and application-specific testing.
PMA products are verified against both international standards and proprietary PMA test procedures, designed to simulate real-world applications and test products to destruction. From extreme cold to extreme heat and humidity, every cable protection solution is validated to deliver reliable performance and comply with applicable regulations.
Our testing capabilities include:
Product development driven by application requirements
- Two dedicated in-house test laboratories
- A broad range of application-specific test equipment
- Comprehensive product validation and quality testing
- More than 15 proprietary PMA test procedures
PMA TEST PROCEDURES
PMA has developed more than 15 proprietary test procedures (PMA DO) to perform application-specific material and product testing for cable protection systems.
These procedures are used to evaluate product performance in applications where dedicated industry standards are not available or where additional application-specific testing is required. Wherever possible, they are aligned with international standards and follow comparable test methods and evaluation criteria.
PMA test procedures cover both general product characteristics and application-specific requirements, including:
Impact resistance for low-temperature railway applications
Ingress protection for dynamic outdoor environments
Abrasion resistance for automation applications
Each PMA test procedure defines :
- Test scope and objective
- Sample material and quantity
- Test environment (e.g. temperature and climate conditions)
- Test equipment
- Test parameters (e.g. force, temperature, time or drop height)
- Step-by-step test method
- Test result evaluation criteria
- Related international standards (e.g. UL, IEC)
