NAMED AFTER A LEGEND, BUILT FOR EXTREMES

Named after the legendary Teck-Hughes gold mine in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Star Teck has been the industry benchmark for Teck cable fittings since 1953—delivering safety, quality, and ease of installation in the harshest environments.

Star Teck's legacy began in 1953 with the development of the first watertight Teck cable fitting for gold mining companies in Kirkland Lake. What started as a solution for mining operations evolved into the industry standard for jacketed metal-clad cable connections across petrochemical, oil and gas, manufacturing, and industrial facilities.

For over seven decades, Star Teck engineers have gathered feedback from end-users working in the most corrosive and demanding conditions, continuously evolving the product line to meet unique industry challenges. Today, designed and manufactured in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Star Teck remains the indisputable standard for high-performance Teck cable fittings—protecting critical connections in ordinary and hazardous locations worldwide. As part of ABB's Installation Products division, Star Teck continues to innovate while maintaining the quality and reliability that made it an industry icon.

SEVEN DECADES OF CUSTOMER-DRIVEN INNOVATION

Star Teck has never stopped innovating. In 1988, the ST series introduced the first ""pop-on"" design requiring no disassembly—featuring a splined gland and unique gripping features that set new standards for installation ease and reliable terminations.

In 1990, the STX series was developed with Canadian petrochemical and oil and gas engineers, introducing an easy-to-fill integral sealing chamber and disconnectable design for hazardous environments.

The 1997 STE (Star Teck Extreme) series revolutionized the industry as the first range-taking Teck fitting with removable armor stops—one fitting could cover the range of three conventional hub sizes, simplifying cable-to-fitting matching and reducing inventory.

In 2000, the Bond Star grounding locknut addressed data and control applications sensitive to voltage differences. Today, only Star Teck fittings include the patented PowerGrip grounding ring with superior pull-out strength—available in aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and PVC-coated lines.

Each advancement was driven by real-world feedback from electricians, engineers, and facility managers working in demanding conditions—ensuring Star Teck fittings solve actual problems, not theoretical ones.

ENGINEERED IN CANADA, TRUSTED WORLDWIDE

Star Teck fittings are designed and manufactured in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, where rigorous quality control and precision engineering ensure every fitting meets the highest standards. While Canada remains the primary market—where Star Teck is synonymous with Teck cable connections—the brand has expanded globally to serve customers worldwide.

This global reach is supported by comprehensive hazardous location certifications including CSA, UL, and IECEx approvals for Class I Division 1 and 2, Class II, and Class III environments. Whether protecting connections in Canadian mining operations, U.S. petrochemical facilities, or industrial plants in emerging markets, Star Teck delivers the same uncompromising quality and reliability that made it the industry standard for over 70 years.
