ABB i-bus® KNX Blind / Roller Shutter Actuators for smart shading
Providing optimal lighting and indoor conditions
Our new ABB i-bus® KNX Blind / Roller Shutter Actuators are coming with a set of new features but are also focusing on ease of use and improved user experience.
Automatic controlled roller shutters, blinds and windows, powered by energy-efficient technology, create optimal living and working conditions for buildings’ inhabitants while allowing sustainable energy use. Our blind/roller shutter actuator portfolio streamlines shading and climate control solutions, and enables cost savings during commissioning while enhancing security and comfort.
By improving the user interface of the ETS application and incorporating templates make the project commissioning process more efficient. With the introduction of parametrization in tabular form, users can manage multiple operations simultaneously, saving time and minimizing errors. KNX Data Secure prevents the bus from unauthorized access.

Universal Interfaces and Binary Inputs:
A complete solution
ABB offers the complete portfolio for reliable façade control: the Shutter Control Unit (JSB/S 1.1) controls shutter and blinds according to the position of the sun. The integration of weather data is an integral part of building automation, enabling significant improvements in energy efficiency that can reduce building operating costs over the long term. The ABBs Weather Sensor (WES/A4.1.1) measures wind speed, rain, brightness, twilight, temperature, day/night, date and time. The combination of window contacts with KNX Binary Inputs provides a flexible and intelligent way to control roller shutters based on the status of windows, enhancing comfort, security, and energy efficiency in any building.
Reshaping the future of sustainable energy
The collaboration will bring significant benefits for community members including lower energy costs through optimized consumption of self-produced renewable energy, reduced electricity connection charges with minimized power peaks, and enhanced efficiency and performance of renewable equipment including energy storage. It will bring the possibility to seamlessly manage local energy use, control assets and loads, demand response incentives, and access to energy trading practices.
