Boreal flexible copper braids were engineered for the environments where rigid connectors simply cannot perform. From transformer links in power substations to grounding and bonding in cable tray systems, Boreal braids absorb vibration, accommodate thermal expansion, and maintain reliable electrical contact across their full rated ampacity. Every assembly is built with 99.9% pure copper ferrules, electro-tin plated prior to forming, and ampacity can be certified using CEI60694 standards through ABB's in-house heat cycle laboratory. For applications requiring something beyond the standard catalogue, custom lengths, hole patterns, plating options, and insulation configurations are available upon request.

Comprehensive range

<p>Boreal offers two construction tiers: extra-flexible 36 AWG assemblies for heavy-duty applications rated from 350 A to 4,000 A, and standard 30 AWG constructions for medium-duty grounding and bonding, covering a wide range of substation, transformer, and cable tray applications.</p>

Compliant

<p>Boreal flexible braid assemblies are available with ampacity certification to CEI60694 standards. Custom configurations including special lengths, hole patterns, plating options, and insulation ratings are available to meet specific project and authority requirements.</p>

<p>Standard NEMA hole patterns across the EXA, EXB, EXG, EXH, and EXJ series simplify installation at the connection point, and flexible braid construction accommodates thermal expansion and vibration without requiring rigid alignment between connection points.</p>
