COLOR-KEYED® COMPRESSION CONNECTORS
ABB Color-Keyed® compression connectors are made of 99.9% pure, oxygen-free copper, and their color coding assures the right die is used with the right lug.
Dies are designed to produce a high-conductivity circumferential, hex- or diamond-shaped compression to exceed IEC 61238-1 and UL standards.
A PIONEER IN COMPRESSION CONNECTORS FOR NEARLY 70 YEARS
ABB Color-Keyed® compression connectors revolutionized the industry with banded, colored stripes and engraving to indicate die location for their installation on power cables. Their color coding enables electrical workers to make high-quality connections with little effort and at a considerable savings in time. ABB offers full-width and half-width dies dependent on connector size and tool used, and half-width dies are marked with the letter “H” after the die code number.
KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS
<p>ABB Color-Keyed® compression connectors are designed and manufactured at the company's Ormond Beach, Florida facility. They are constructed from high-conductivity materials and feature colored stripes or engraving to indicate location of die for their installation on power cables. Together with a complete system of compression tools and matched dies, they deliver consistent, verifiable crimps for reliable, long-lasting performance.</p>
Comprehensive
<p>More than 350 made-to-order compression lugs available, all ready to ship in five days or less.</p>Performance
<p>Secure, high-performance electrical connections for copper and aluminum conductors.</p>Reliable
<p>Precision-engineered dies and compression tools form the connector and conductor into a solid mass, creating a low-resistance bond that guarantees superior conductivity and long-term reliability.</p>Easy installation
<p>Connectors simplify installation, reduce labor costs and provide visual verification through embossed die codes for inspection.</p>Corrosion-resistant
<p>Copper connectors are made from high-conductivity wrought or cast copper with electro-tin plating for corrosion resistance, while aluminum connectors feature an oxide inhibitor compound for secure terminations.</p>Compliant
<p>Certifications include UL 486A and CSA 22.2.</p>INDUSTRIES WE SUPPORT
