STAR TECK® FITTINGS FOR TECK AND TRAY CABLES

Since 1953, the Star Teck family has set the industry benchmark for safety, quality construction, and ease of installation in Teck cable termination. Designed and manufactured in Canada to meet the unique challenges of Canadian industry.

A TRADITION OF INDUSTRY FIRSTS

The Star Teck story began in 1953 with the introduction of the original 10464 watertight fitting, named after the Teck-Hughes Gold Mine in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Since then, every generation of Star Teck fittings has been shaped by direct feedback from end-users working in the harshest and most corrosive industrial environments in Canada. The 1988 ST® Series introduced the pop-on design that set a new standard for ease of installation. The 1990 STX® Series became the benchmark for hazardous location termination. The 1997 STE® Series introduced range-taking technology to the industry, and the 1998 STEX® Series combined range-taking with hazardous location sealing in a single fitting. The 2000 Bond Star® grounding locknut addressed the growing need for reliable bonding in data and control applications. Today, every fitting in the Star Teck family continues to be designed and manufactured at ABB's Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec facility, keeping pace with technological advances while improving performance and installation efficiency for Canadian industry.

KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS

The Star Teck family offers a complete Teck cable fitting solution for every application, from standard industrial environments to the most demanding hazardous locations. Every fitting in the line is engineered to deliver the same core performance: fast, reliable termination, superior electrical bonding, and long-term sealing integrity, all backed by the certifications required for safe installation in Canadian industry.

Easy installation

Every fitting in the Star Teck family is engineered for fast, straightforward installation. From the original pop-on design of the ST Series requiring no disassembly, to the range-taking technology of the STE and STEX Series that eliminates cable-to-fitting mismatching, Star Teck fittings reduce installation time and complexity across all applications.

Reliable

Star Teck fittings deliver consistent, long-term performance in the harshest industrial environments. The PowerGrip™ non-magnetic stainless steel grounding ring provides 360-degree dependable grounding, the built-in O-Ring or sealing device maintains watertight integrity even on rough or uneven enclosure surfaces, and sharp biting teeth provide superior electrical bonding.

Compliant

The Star Teck family covers the full spectrum of CSA and UL certification requirements for Teck cable termination, from standard industrial and watertight applications to the most demanding hazardous location classifications including Class I, II, and III, Divisions 1 and 2, and IEC Zones 1 and 2. Always refer to specific model certification data before specifying for any application.

Durable design

Star Teck fittings are available in aluminum, steel, malleable iron, 316 stainless steel, and PVC-coated versions, providing the material options required to withstand the corrosive, wet, and chemically demanding environments in which Teck cable is commonly deployed across Canadian industry.

Comprehensive range

From the original 10464 watertight fitting introduced in 1953 to the modern STEX range-taking hazardous location series, the Star Teck family provides a complete fitting solution for every Teck and ACWU cable termination requirement, including standard, 90-degree, watertight, hazardous location, tray cable, and grounding applications.
