Introduced in 1998, the Star Teck STEX Series represents the most capable fitting in the Star Teck family, combining the range-taking efficiency of the STE Series with the integral hazardous location sealing of the STX Series. For end-users in explosion-proof environments, the STEX delivers all of the inventory and selection advantages of range-taking technology alongside the certified sealing performance required for the most demanding classified installations. A single STEX fitting covers the cable diameter range of multiple conventional hub sizes, the integral sealing chamber is easy to fill and requires less sealing compound, and removable armour stops simplify cable preparation. CSA certified Type HLA for Class I Divisions 1 and 2, Groups A, B, C, and D; Class II Divisions 1 and 2, Groups E, F, and G; Class III. Hub sizes 1/2 through 2-1/2 inches are rated Enclosure Type 6P; hub sizes 3, 3-1/2, and 4 inches are rated Enclosure Type 4. Also complies with IEC requirements for Class I Zones 1 and 2, Groups IIC, IIB, and IIA. UL listed for hub sizes 1/2 through 2 inches when used with putty or liquid type compound.
