As modern engine designs push operating temperatures higher to meet tightening emissions regulations such as Euro 6 and Tier 4 for off-highway vehicles, protecting electrical connector integrity has become a critical challenge. ABB offers Harnessflex X-Temp connector interfaces, a purpose-built range of straight and 90-degree elbow fittings manufactured from high-temperature polyamide (Nylon), designed to safeguard electrical connectors in extreme underhood environments. Compatible with leading connector families including TE AMP Superseal, Ampseal 16, TE/Deutsch DT Series, Bosch Compact, FCI Automotive Apex 2.8 and Kostal Series, the range delivers complete cable protection from the conduit all the way to the connector body. The 90-degree elbow versions provide 360-degree swivel functionality around the connector housing, giving harness designers freedom to route cables without over-flexing. Manufactured from low smoke, zero halogen polyamide material, the interfaces are suited to long-term static thermal exposure up to +185°C and short-term peaks up to +200°C.
