MNS 4.0 is ABB's next-generation low-voltage switchgear - combining AI-driven predictive intelligence, embedded cybersecurity, and modular design for high power density in a smaller footprint. The infrastructure challenge has fundamentally changed. Customers need power distribution that's ready for what's next.
As part of ABB's Infinitus Direct Current Portfolio, MNS 4.0 platform will support AC, DC, or hybrid AC/DC deployments for AI data centers - giving customers the flexibility to adapt as their power architecture evolves.
MNS 4.0 will be available in 2027. This is not a product purchase, but an infrastructure strategy decision. Power distribution choices made now determine whether customers can adapt and scale or face costly retrofits within a decade. MNS 4.0 is engineered to give customers flexibility without limiting their options for tomorrow.
It means the MNS platform has been tested in virtually every demanding environment imaginable -offshore platforms, semiconductor fabs, chemical plants, data centers across every continent. That installed base is more than a number; it's the foundation on which MNS 4.0's has been validated in the conditions customers actually operate in.
Our 80-year partnership with LKAB in Sweden - where we're delivering electrification infrastructure for their new sorting plant at Malmberget - is a good example of what that looks like in practice. Those relationships teach you something fundamental: customers don't just want equipment; they want a partner who will be there 10, 20, 30 years from now.
Hyperscalers and semiconductor fabs are constantly expanding and adapting. Traditional switchgear design needs to either over-build from day one or pay for costly replacements later. MNS 4.0's modular architecture changes that. Customers can deploy what they need today, then add sections or reconfigure as operations evolve - without replacing the platform. Combined with high power density in a compact footprint, that flexibility has real financial value, especially where capacity needs are growing faster than projections.
