Elastimold® Single-Phase Reclosers
Lightweight, smart grid ready protection for overhead distribution.
Smart and light overhead protection
ABB's Elastimold single‑phase reclosers use molded EPDM insulation, magnetic actuators, integral sensors, and lightweight construction to reduce outage duration and support automation. They are compatible with SEL and Beckwith recloser controls. The single-phase reclosers automatically detect and reclose faults to maximize system reliability and service restoration across overhead distribution up to 38kV. Nearly 58 lbs with lightweight solid-dielectric insulation and vacuum interruption, these smart grid ready reclosers are compatible with SEL and Beckwith controls. Modular design enables field upgrades and retrofits, delivering virtually maintenance-free protection with thousands of trouble-free operations.
Key Features and Benefits

Assembled, tested and shipped from Hackettstown, New Jersey, USA, ABB's Elastimold single-phase reclosers use solid-dielectric insulation without oil or SF6 gas for virtually maintenance-free operation up to 38kV. Up to 33% lighter than typical reclosers, these units help reduce installation costs and labor.

Lighweight

Molded vacuum reclosers weighing up to 33% less than typical units make installation easy and cost-effective.
Modular

Flexible design allows for easy field upgrades and retrofits. Designed to accommodate smart grid sensor integration.
Maintenance-free

Without oil or SF6 gas, there is virtually no maintenance required. This helps lower the total cost of ownership for the life of the switchgear.
Smart grid ready

Offers integral load‑side voltage sensors, optional source‑side sensors and compatibility with microprocessor controls.
Compact

Suitable for tight pole or padmount installations.
Industries We Support
