Elastimold® Switchgear Riser Pole
ABB Elastimold riser pole switchgear delivers compact, rugged overhead‑to‑underground transition switching for molded vacuum networks.
Decades of proven performance
ABB's Elastimold riser pole switchgear fits small areas with limited ground space for pad-mount enclosures. The riser-pole configuration transitions from overhead live-front to underground dead-front using air bushing terminators to convert connections into the Elastimold solid-dielectric dead-front platform.
Key Features and Benefits

Assembled, tested and shipped from Hackettstown, New Jersey, USA, ABB's Elastimold riser pole switchgear delivers a compact, virtually maintenance-free and environmental solution for medium-voltage distribution in constrained or underground transition projects. Using field-proven solid dielectric technology, it helps provides operational flexibility and long-term cost savings while supporting utilities on their energy transition journey without oil or SF6 gas.

Compact

Small footprint installs in tight spaces and reduces the need for large footings.
Flexible

Supports a wide range of system configurations and retrofit opportunities.
Cost-saving

Uses no oil or SF6 gas, virtually eliminating maintenance and lowering total cost of ownership over the life of the switchgear for the energy provider..
Performance

Rugged, molded EPDM rubber construction withstands exposure to the elements.
Corrosion-resistant

Submersible, corrosion-resistant and fully shielded.
Temperature-resistant

Operating temperature range from -40˚C to 65˚C.
Automation and control integration

Motor operator, SCADA and auto-transfer control options available to enable remote operation, feeder reconfiguration and automatic source transfer.
Safe

Dead-front construction eliminates exposed live parts and reduces arc flash risk. Available with the optional ABB Tru-Break™ switchgear module, allowing utility crews to visually verify circuit isolation and safely ground the de-energized line before performing maintenance.
Submersible

Sealed and fully submersible to 10 feet (3 meters).
Reliable

Made with a proprietary EPDM rubber formulation that has been tested and trusted in the field for over 50 years on a solid-dielectric platform. With a silicone diaphragm, it uses air as an insulating medium.
Industries We Support
