ZX2

ZX2, up to 40.5 kV (SF6), is a modular medium voltage switchgear for high demanding and harsh applications in primary distribution.

For Primary Distribution and all applications

Based on SF6, ZX2’s modular structure distributes medium voltage electric power safely and reliably in a variety of demanding utility and industry applications. It complies with IEC, GB/DL, CSA, IEEE standards with UL certification available on request.

A compact and modular medium voltage switchgear with high technical parameters and ratings built as a three-phase encapsulated and arc-resistant design for single and double busbar applications. ZX2 is equipped with separate gas-filled busbar and circuit breaker compartments. 

  • Rated voltage up to 40,5 kV
  • Rated normal current up to 3150 A (with the use of parallel bus systems up to 5000 A)
  • Rated short-time withstand current up to 40 kA

  • Available with inner or outer cone cable termination system

Sealed system

<p>This system is highly robust and climatically independent, with all live components and switching functions sealed within a stainless-steel tank, protecting them from soiling, humidity, foreign bodies, and making it suitable for industrial, polluted, highly corrosive, and flood-risk environments. It is designed for normal operation up to 1000 m above sea level, but can also be installed at higher altitudes by adjusting the internal pressure for optimal performance.</p>

<p>Prioritize safety with ABB's ZX2 switchgear. Delivering an IAC rating of A FLR up to 40 kA according to IEC 62271-200 standards, ZX2 ensures robust protection. Installation and lineup extension are safe and easy thanks to our intelligent bus bar connection system. Most variants maintain their full operational capability even during the unlikely case of a SF6 leakage. Optional view ports enable visual verification of switching positions for enhanced monitoring.</p>
