More than a decade of geothermal collaboration
ABB has worked with Ormat for more than ten years, supplying synchronous generators for geothermal projects around the world. The collaboration combines generator expertise with application-specific engineering, including solutions designed around Ormat’s turbine technology.
KAISHAN
High efficiency proven in geothermal applications
For Kaishan’s geothermal projects in Indonesia, ABB supplied two 12 MVA synchronous steam turbine generators engineered for efficient, reliable operation.
The specified efficiency of 97% was exceeded in type testing, reaching 98.37%
FERVO ENERGY
Supporting the next generation of geothermal
ABB is working with Fervo Energy on Cape Station, a next-generation geothermal development in Utah. ABB’s scope includes technologies for key applications across electrification, motors, drives and motor control, supporting efficient and reliable plant operation.
