End-shield bearing generators

ABB high voltage (HV) end-shield bearing generators are custom designed for gen-sets on board ships or offshore platforms. They cover the power range up to 15 MVA in frame sizes 710-1120 with voltages up to 15 kV (50/60 Hz).

With extensive experience, we provide highly customized ABB generators designed for the most demanding marine applications - delivered on schedule and within budget. Our offering includes a range of bearing solutions to meet specific tilting requirements, featuring either sleeve or antifriction bearings in rigid flange-mounted or pedestal-bearing configurations.

 

When supplied for gen-set use, the generators are always dimensionded according to customer specifications. The reactance levels are matched with the short-circuit capability of the switchboard and voltage variations requirements.

 

ABB high voltage synchronous generators are operating on a wide range of vessel types, including cruisers, car and train ferries, ice-breakers, multi-purpose tankers, LNG tankers, FPSOs, ice-going vessles, supply vessels and drilling rigs.
