ABB's IE5 and IE6 Synchronous reluctance (SynRM) motors deliver world-leading energy efficiency, high torque, and superior performance, helping industries optimize productivity while cutting costs and reducing emissions. Combining the service-friendliness of an induction motor with the exceptional performance of permanent magnet technology, these energy-efficient motors do not contain magnets or rare earth metals. The portfolio spans ultra-premium IE5 efficiency (0.75-90 kW) and breakthrough IE6 hyper-efficiency (110-450 kW) — the first magnet-free motors to reach IE6. This innovative design ensures industry-leading efficiency with lowest maintenance across the entire power range.
