ABB Baldor-Reliance Automotive Duty motors, part of ABB’s Definite Purpose lineup, are engineered for the intense demands of automotive manufacturing—including Tier 1 supplier lines, stamping presses, conveyors and robotics. Designed for around-the-clock performance, these motors deliver the durability, reliability and precision required in high-cycle, high-demand environments.

Technical data

These motors feature NEMA U-frame sizes (182–405U), are available in foot-mounted design and are built with heavy-duty construction for continuous or severe-duty operation in high-cycle environments.

Durable

Built with a heavy-duty cast iron frame and protective epoxy paint, this motor is designed for exceptional durability and resistance to harsh industrial conditions.

Bearing

Double shielded ball bearings (regreaseable) for extended bearing life.

Cooler running

The motor is rated to run at full load 1.0SF in environments up to 65°C, but can safely handle 1.15SF when operating in cooler 40°C conditions.

Protection

Shaft slingers on both drive end (DE) and opposite drive end (ODE) help protect the motor bearings by deflecting dirt, dust, and moisture away from the shaft.

Inverter duty

ABB Baldor-Reliance three phase motors are suitable for inverter use per NEMA MG1 Part 31.4.4.2.

Energy efficient

ABB Baldor-Reliance motors meet or exceed all efficiency requirements for US, Canada and Mexico regulations.
