BORDLINE® PB auxiliary converters represent ABB’s new generation of onboard power supply systems for urban rail vehicles, setting a new benchmark in efficiency, scalability, and customization.

Built on advanced silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor technology and an optimized system architecture, they are designed to minimize weight and volume while maximizing overall system performance. Available in three scalable power sizes, the platform supports a wide range of vehicle requirements and offers flexible installation options — including roof and underframe configurations.

Despite their high level of standardization, BORDLINE® PB converters are fully tailorable through a broad set of options, such as AC and DC output configurations, input stage variants, and specific mechanical interfaces.

This makes them ideal for both new vehicle platforms and retrofit projects, ensuring long service life, high availability, and reliable operation under demanding conditions.

Tailorable to project specific requirements thanks to pre-qualified options. This approach leads to a big benefit for railway players as the time and costs of product configuration and maintenance are significantly lower.
