Flatness Measurement System

The Stressometer is normally supplied as a complete measurement and control system. However it is also possible for ABB to deliver a Stressometer system with only the flatness measurement functionality i.e. without flatness control.

Flatness measurement benefits

The measurement system can then be supplied as one of the following variants:

Force distribution measurement system (FDMS)

Which is a Stressometer system configured to give the distributed force readings from each measurement zone of the measuring roll as an output.

Flatness measurement system (FMS)

Which is a system that measures the Stress distribution [N/mm2] and the flatness [I-units] of the strip.

Flatness error measurement system (FEMS)

Which is a system that has flatness target models that describe the desired flatness of the strip. Output is the difference between the target value and the measured flatness the so called Flatness Error.
