Its real-time, step-by-step instructions are easy to follow and accessible for novice users, whilst the AI assistant helps experienced users to solve problems and address complex programming tasks. A large language model supports deeper understanding, with natural language answers, whilst RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) scans ABB’s document library to provide insight and context.

Assistant. ABB Robotics does not use or store any of its customers’ data and we do not use any customer data for model evolution. Our customers’ data is not made available for other customers to use.

RobotStudio AI Assistant will be part of the upcoming RobotStudio release in September and after the user has updated RobotStudio to the latest version, the AI assistant will become available. 

Users still need a baseline understanding of robotics to use RobotStudio. The AI Assistant will help them to carry out some of the more advanced  

programming tasks and help them learn how to use RAPID code programming faster. Users will be able to find answers to some of the trickier programming tasks that they come across less frequently and this could make a difference to the complexity of programming they are able to carry out. However,  

RobotStudio AI Assistant cannot program a robot entirely by itself without knowledge and input from a user. 

ABB Robotics can provide education licenses to universities and schools so that young people can use RobotStudio when learning to program robots. Using  

RobotStudio on a desktop, with the AI assistant, will help speed up learning for young programmers, helping them to become proficient in RAPID code programming faster. This can give students a head start as they begin their  

robot programming journey.
