Diversity and Inclusion around the world
Our businesses around the world play a key role in advancing Diversity & Inclusion. Learn more about some local initiatives below.
Switzerland
ABB Switzerland’s flagship, Well@work, is a strategic lever that drives a holistic approach to employee wellbeing through its strong focus on Mental Health offering resources like peer support, resilience workshops, and job crafting for teams. Key is its coordination with physical, social, financial and professional wellbeing. Signature campaigns such as WellComeTogether, Well@work focus groups and Well@work roundtables foster open dialogue on mental health, inclusion of temporary employees, and support for Gen Z. Alongside wellbeing, Switzerland champions inclusion through gender-neutral parental leave, remote work policies, gender pay gap analysis, and LGBTQ+ allyship guides. Initiatives such as mentoring, unconscious bias training, and refugee internships help shape inclusive leadership and culture, while partnerships with FEMTEC, Advance, Special Olympics, Swiss Imagineering and ABB childcare associations as well as internal ERGs strengthen gender diversity, accessibility, family support, and opportunities for all.
Netherlands
ABB Netherlands brings inclusion to life through initiatives that celebrate diversity and support employee wellbeing. A highlight was the multicultural dinner at the Ede production site, where employees shared dishes from their home countries encouraging dialogue, cultural appreciation, and stronger collaboration. ABB also champions LGBTQ+ inclusion by participating in the Workplace Pride Gala in Amsterdam. Recognizing that 15% of the workforce are caregivers, ABB Netherlands launched a pioneering program with manager training, employee workshops, and plans to partner with external specialists for mental health and practical support. In addition, the global network event connects Netherlands-based employees working in global roles, creating community, and sharing insights across borders.
Denmark
ABB Denmark took a meaningful step toward inclusion by providing free menstrual hygiene products through RedLocker at every location. This award-winning initiative combats period poverty and promotes dignity in the workplace. By addressing period poverty and supporting UN Sustainable Development Goals, partnership with RedLocker illustrates ABB Denmark’s commitment to inclusion through tangible, everyday solutions.
India
In India, ABB has taken significant steps to advance diversity and inclusion. At the Vadodara facility, the Pride Pathway was introduced to reinforce equal opportunity and respect for all. Additionally, the launch of the ABBilities Employee Resource Group promotes accessibility and allyship for people of all abilities. The event featured an inspiring keynote and a community initiative that provided artificial limbs to 20 beneficiaries, reflecting ABB’scommitment to creating a workplace where every individual can thrive.
UK & Ireland
In 2025, the UK & Ireland D&I Board refreshed its approach with defined roles and a structured events calendar aligned to global priorities. A standout moment was ABB’s first-ever participation in the Manchester Pride Parade, where colleagues came together to celebrate inclusion and show visible support for the LGBTQ+ community. The Board continues to drive engagement through regular events and opportunities for employees to get involved, ensuring diversity and inclusion remain an active part of everyday culture.
