Gould ITE

ITE Circuit Breaker Company, named for the innovative oil-dashpot inverse time element on its electro-mechanical circuit breaker trip devices, was acquired in the late seventies by Gould, Inc..

The new company Gould ITE continued to manufacture its products mainly in several factories in the Philadelphia area and a west coast facility in Downey, CA.

 

Gould sold a majority of the ITE Company to Swiss-based Brown Boveri Limited, which later became ABB.
