ABB Binding Corporate Rules

At ABB, we treat personal data with care. We are committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of our employees, customers and partners. To ensure a standardized and high level of protection of personal data processed by ABB companies worldwide, ABB has implemented the Binding Corporate Rules, which have been approved by the European data protection authorities in January 2026.

The Binding Corporate Rules are our data privacy policy, mandatory for all employees worldwide, providing global standards for safeguarding personal data. The BCRs set rules governing the international transfer of personal data between ABB Group Companies operating in the European Economic Area (EEA) and ABB Group Companies outside that area, as well as sharing it with third parties.

They also describe your rights in respect of such transfers, what to do if you want to exercise your Data Subject rights or complain about such transfers, and how to contact us. They should not be treated as a transfer mechanism only but rather as a comprehensive personal data protection framework defining ABB’s global approach to the processing of personal data.

ABB Group Companies are committed to adhere to the data privacy principles described in the Binding Corporate Rules. The BCRs apply to the processing of all personal data by all ABB Group Companies, regardless of where the data is collected and the competent jurisdiction applicable to the processing.

Where local laws provide a higher level of personal data protection, they will prevail over the Binding Corporate Rules.

As a Data Subject, you may submit a complaint relating to a breach of the Binding Corporate Rules by an ABB Group Company or any question or concern about data privacy to ABB, by submitting the contact form at www.abb.com/privacy or sending an email to privacy@abb.com or by post to ABB B.V.
