What is the solution we are seeking?

 

We are seeking a software tool or module for single or a portfolio of sites that:

  • Ingests site/process data 
  • Models baseline energy, peak demand and emissions  
  • Catalogues decarbonization measures 
  • Runs scenario planning and optimization 
  • Produces an implementation roadmap with phased plans,
  • Capex/Opex, risks, dependencies, timelines and KPIs

The solution should be ready for integration with advisory teams (ABB Navigate) and customer systems, supporting rapid deployment and high-confidence decision-making. Engage project with clear goals, deliverables and duration, aiming for scalable, impactful outcomes that drive progress toward net-zero operations.

What is the impact of the solution for the market/customers?

 

ABB’s industrial customers need help measuring their current energy use and emissions for each process or asset. They also need to compare different ways of reducing emissions, such as recovering heat, installing solar panels and/or batteries and shifting energy use to off-peak times, by looking at costs, benefits, and risks.

These actions should be organized into multi-year plans that consider limits on grid capacity, safety rules, maintenance schedules, and production needs. Customers also need clear business cases that both finance and operations teams can approve.

We are looking for startups with proven industrial decarbonization planning tools that can turn plant data into credible, actionable decarbonization roadmaps. ABB’s advisory teams will use the chosen tool to turn real data into practical plans, test different scenarios and connect with existing customer systems, making decisions faster and with greater confidence.
