Built on our all-compatible drive architecture these inverter units are designed to fulfil all your requirements for a common DC bus drive system.

 

The inverter units are DC supplied and have built-in capacitors for smoothing the DC voltage. The electrical connection to the common DC bus is fuse protected. An optional DC-switch can be selected to disconnect an individual inverter unit from the DC bus. Each inverter unit comes with safe torque off (STO) as standard.

 

The units come in eight frame sizes, including the R8i inverter unit which can be parallel connected for building high power inverters in multidrives. The R8i has speed-controlled cooling fans, quick connectors for motor cabling and wheels for easy installation and transport.

Key benefits

High packing density of ACS880 means that, for example 16 units of frame size R2i inverters can be installed into a one meter wide cabinet. Thermal handling is very efficient as heat loss of each inverter unit is guided to the back of the cabinet. Utilize premium control of virtually any type of AC motor with direct torque control (DTC), including induction and permanent magnet motors and synchronous machines.

Direct Torque Control (DTC)

High dynamic speed, torque and position control as well as synchronizing. Speed and torque control operates even without encoders.

Energy Efficiency

Reduces energy consumption and improves system efficiency. As the energy circulates over the common DC bus, all energy is not taken from the supply network. Energy circulation can also be used for motor-to-motor braking without the need for a braking chopper or regenerative supply unit.
