ACS880-907 regenerative rectifier units

This supply unit is used in regenerative drive systems to convert three-phase AC voltage to DC voltage. The unit consists of R8i and L filter modules.

Regenerative rectifier units

During motoring the input current flows through the diodes to the DC bus and the supply unit works as a diode bridge. In regeneration the current flows from the DC bus through the IGBTs to the supply network. The IGBTs' are switched to conduct only once during each network voltage cycle. This reduces switching losses and enablesĀ  high input and output powers of the R8i module. Unlike with a thyristor bridge, the IGBTs can be switched off at any time which improves reliability. Operation of RRU is also reliable during supply network voltage variations.

Key benefits

The all-compatible multidrives comes with various types of supply units including diode supply units and regenerative supply units and they are available as air and liquid cooled versions. Single supply and DC bus arrangement with several inverters reduce line power and system size. Utilize premium control of virtually any type of AC motor with direct torque control (DTC), including induction and permanent magnet motors and synchronous machines.

Energy efficiency

Regenerative rectifier unit can feed the braking energy to the grid providing considerable energy savings.

High power and flexibility

The IGBTs' are switched to conduct only once during each network voltage cycle. This reduces switching losses and enables high input and output powers of the R8i module.

Reliable under voltage fluctuations

Operation of RRU is also reliable during supply network voltage variations.

Flexible installation

Can be mounted in enclosed cabinets or harsh environments without air-cooling.

Modular design

Scalable architecture for customized power solutions and easy expansion.

Environmental resistance

Designed for reliability in extreme industrial and marine environments with robust thermal management.
