Abilities

We are committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities, chronic illnesses and neurodivergent conditions. We strive to create a safe, fair and inclusive working environment where everyone in ABB can come to work as their full selves. While many of our initiatives are part of our overarching commitment to Diversity and Inclusion, you can learn about some of our dedicated abilities activities on this page.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities

We recognize this international day to raise awareness and foster inclusion for people with disabilities, chronic illnesses and neurodivergent conditions.

Our initiatives

Accessibility and accommodations

<p>While we have accessibility and accommodations practices in place, we continue to review and make improvements both locally and globally. We continue to support physical site assessments, building on those previously carried out in Italy and in our HQ in Switzerland. Our global digital accessibility guidelines are aligned with <b><a href="https://www.w3.org/WAI/standards-guidelines/wcag/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">WCAG 2</a> </b>standards for web accessibility.</p>

Inclusive principles, practices and guidelines

<p>Our Code of Conduct includes a clause that enforces zero tolerance against discrimination based on disabilities. Our flexible work practices and guidelines also support colleagues to thrive in the workplace on terms that suit their individual needs.</p>

Learning and development

<p>We offer specific learning paths, webinars, workshops, articles and resources from partners on the topics of inclusion for people with a disability, chronic illness or neurodivergent condition. Topics include accessibility in the workplace, overcoming barriers in recruitment, and how each of us can contribute to accommodations or accessibility.</p>

Abilities employee resource groups and employee networks

<p>These groups and networks aim to create and support communities that include those living with a disability, chronic illness or neurodivergent condition.</p>

Special Olympics Germany

<p>For more than 20 years, ABB has been proud to partner with Special Olympics Germany. We celebrate inclusion through sponsorship and volunteering. Since the year 2000, a total of more than 3,400 employees have volunteered.</p>

ABB is a global company committed to upholding our core values and our Code of Conduct everywhere where we operate. We strive to foster an inclusive culture while adhering to all applicable laws.
