The Jürgen Dormann Foundation (JDF) provides scholarships to engineering and science students in different parts of the world who can prove a high standard of academic achievement and who need financial support to be able to continue their studies.
It is with deep sadness that we share the death of Jürgen Dormann, former CEO Chairman of ABB. The ABB Jürgen Dormann Foundation was set up in 2007 to honor his contributions to the company.
On behalf of everyone at ABB Group, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
Scholarships, which are awarded for a maximum of five years of study, have already been given to students at partner universities in Bulgaria, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Malaysia, Poland, South Africa, Switzerland, Turkey and Vietnam. Further partnerships are planned.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of ability, potential and personal means. Only students who are nationals of the country where a partner university is based can apply. Each partner university has an application process, and the final selection is made in cooperation with ABB.
